To be honest, I didn't understand anything about those SOPA and PIPA. Thanks for this video, filled in some gaps. :)

Seriously, people are exaggerating the effect SOPA will have and it's getting annoying.
First of all, it won't pass. The DNS part of the bill (the one where they can block domains) has already been removed apparently.
Second of all, even if it does pass in it's current state, it won't be the second ice age or something, I bet people will forget about it on Day 2.
I think most people protest it to fit in with the crowd. They think that raising awareness alone will do anything and that blacking out their site will make them a hero.

WinAndLinuxTutorials: Me too until I saw some information related to SOPA/PIPA bills that definitely I joined for a strike. The infographic gave it a useful information.

It's much worse than simply "ruining" the internet. SOPA would in fact fracture and break it. Huge problems would come out of it both in terms of security and usability. Our entire DNS and URL systems are by definition "universal" and SOPA would break that fundamental idea.
