Could you elaborate on "very weak"?

You can get 6-months of Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus using the direct link below:

Code:
http://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsafbmpav.exe

UnThreat uses the Viper engine and it is free. I've been very impressed how smoothly it works, how low the memory usage is (2-3 mb.) Nice to use something that isn't the least bit buggy. The paid version has a firewall, but really, Windows 7 & 8 have a good firewall.

You can use CIS 6 or if you do not like, 5.12.

If you would like a light combo: MSE + Binisoft Firewall controll or PrivateFirewall will do the trick.

VIPRE is known not to like any other security applications.

Be prepared to answer lots of popups w/PrivateFirewall until it is properly trained, then on new downloads, you'll get them, as well, and that leaves the decisions down to you. Also, see Wilders for some of the issues PF has. Used it for several months but grew weary of all the pester. Stay off the porn, hacker, cracker, key gen, prirate sites, you'll be fine. In 16 years on the net, I've only came across a couple of malware.

It is impossible for us to pick out a security combo for you.
You will just have to try several solutions until one appeals to you and runs well on your system.

Most paid security products have trials, always try before you buy.
Use the trial until it expires because sometimes it may take awhile for problems to develop. But for the most part freeware security products can do an excellent job protecting you if you utilize correctly and learn how to safely download files and surf the web.

Freeware security suites:

1. Comodo Internet Security
2. FortiClient Standard Endpoint
3. ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall (uses Kaspersky)
4. Roboscan Free Internet Security (uses BitDefender)

Freeware AV's:
1. Avast
2. Microsoft Security Essentials
3. Avira
4. AVG
5. FortiClient Lite
6. Panda Cloud
7. Comodo AV
8. Baidu Antivirus

Freeware Firewalls
1. Comodo Firewall
2. Online Armor Free Firewall
3. ZoneAlarm Free Firewall
4. Privatefirewall
5. Malware Defender
6. BiniSoft Windows Firewall Control
7. Windows Firewall with Advanced Security

Free protection features:
1. UAC
2. WinPatrol
3. Sandboxie
4. BufferZone Pro
5. Zemana AntiLogger Free
6. SpyShelter Personal Free
7. HostsMan with MVPS blocklists
8. Blue Coat K9 Web Protection

Enjoy!!:D

In your preferences choice, you don't need a power up combination. Suites like Norton Internet Security is fine and just a few configuration and all done.

You don't need a lot of combination features which may sacrifice the performance rather protection.

RAM isn't an issue, CPU and I/O writes does affects.

Only use either one antivirus plus one firewall or one security suite.
Don't mixed them up or you will have compatibility problems and your system will not run stable.

I don't like security suites, I rather use stand-alone AV + firewall.

There is no best, each system and individual user may have different needs. Many users who know how to download trusted files and stay clear of bad websites can simply get by with only using MSE and Windows Firewall and never get infections. Your actions are much more important than what security software you choose to use.

If you are on user who likes to click on everything then nothing at all will protect you from infections since no AV's will detect everything.

Thanks.:D

You don't need Baidu AV since isn't considered as companion. (Unless may mixed with a firewall)

Suites can stay well itself on the system and adding another later may not be useful.

I recommend Webroot because it is very light and works in the cloud. In MalwareTips has a link to load the AV with a 6 month license, amazing is not it ?
