Yes either that i7 cpu will fine.. what im saying some games did use too much CPU.
Some games are badly optimized or use an old engine and they need high cpu clockspeed. For example Starwars the old republic (swtor).
Can't wait till amd gets higher clock speed with the new CPU's.

We're going for high core counts, not high clock speeds. What you want is high IPC.

AMD already went the clock speed route and you can see how that ended with the FX line.

Since the thread is about gaming and we are not talking about 2 core cpu's what I meant is that there are still games out there which need high MHz and don't gain real benefit from 12+++ cores. So better know if your favorite game is such a program.
