[QUOTE="illumination, post: 106661"] See Bo, this is where you are assuming i have never felt a system without an AV/IS suite on it.. I have, I know how light they feel with no security.. I also know suites like CIS, if you give them a couple days to learn your system, can open applications just as fast.. With a few security programs once files are scanned, they are not done so again unless changed.. Even with the BB and HIPS, after a couple days, i see no difference in programs opening.. I do extensive photo editing on the side, and even doing this, it is responsive like one would not believe unless trying.. Im now on windows 8 with boot time protection, and CIS v6 with HIPS/BB/AV/FW and Shadow Defender for those "want to make sure moments".. This combined with the couple browser plugins i use, do not slow me down one bit, and afford almost every angle i can think of i want to protect. I want to bring up a story, already told on here once, but not in great detail of my brother in law, that wanted me to help him pick out a new laptop, he is a truck driver and wanted it to maintain logs.. He asked me to set it up for him, so i did, when i asked about what he wanted for security, he said he did not need any... He read online he was actually safer with out an AV, i disagreed, but it was his system, so i respected his wishes.. One month later he comes to me, he say's, something is wrong with my laptop, it will not connect to any hotspots.. Well, he was right, something was indeed wrong with it, it would not connect period, it was full of malware.. I told him this, and he asked me how it happened, and told me he never downloads anything, and only goes to a few trusted sites.. "sound familiar".. I cleaned it up for him, and again asked, would you like me to hook you up with some security, again, he said no, he has safe habits, does not download anything, and only goes to trusted sites...
