Yeah plat1098.... I'm with ya. If we could get a test of those parameters, that would be like... uh.... great. Just one time way back in the day, Microsoft had some rough data on computer infections and the resident AV at the time of infection. As you might imagine, there were many parties who were not pleased -- and that disappeared before most knew it was there. But that type of data collection has limitations too. It's kinda sorta similar to the Malwarebytes live worldwide malware infection map --- if that thing is still alive. But here's the thing about the testing labs and even our own Malware Hub. They tend to show similar results and trends over time. I think actual meaning can be derived from the cumulative results. That's not as good as your million endpoints over half-a-year for sure... but hey, ya work with what ya got sometimes. 🔨 I hope CheckLab.pl doesn't go the AV-Comparative route of everybody gets a trophy. It could have already started. https://checklab.pl/en/recent-results In the most recent test, there is only a 'speck of red.' Compared with one of the earlier financial tests -- which was interesting. https://avlab.pl/PDF_avlab/AVLab-Test-of-software-for-online-banking-protection.pdf In testing, ya gotta let losers be losers.... instead of trying to have a 'tight shot group.' That's a reason that I like some of SE Labs testing. They let losers be losers.
