This is the reason why I don't like Wikileaks. People are getting
killed all over the world, because of this peoples carelessness.
In countries like mine where you still have cold warriors, releasing
names of informants endangers the lives of people that passes
information to a friendly Embassy(US).

By the way, all information released by Wikileaks on my country,
was not classified when they released it. Everybody, good guys
and bad guys knew the information. The only one that gained
something by Wikileaks releasing their "leaks", was the repressive
government that we have, no one else, as they now know, whose
talking to the good guys(US).

The effect of this "leaks" on my country, is just an example, a bloody
example caused by Mr Assanges irresponsibility.

Update: In a tweet, the @wikileaks says: “WikiLeaks ‘insurance’ files have not been decrypted. All press are currently misreporting. There is an issue, but not that issue.”

Thats what the article says. I saw it, but I also know that newspapers that
gotten the released information in the past, have had to edit names to
protect innocent people. El Pais is an example of a NP doing that.

Repressive governments can easily figure out who informed about their doings
by reading Wikileaks releases. Sometimes, names don't need to be mentioned
for people to get hurt.

Hi Umbra, it looks to me that you mean that Wikileaks is a US government
hidden tool. Right? I seen that before as I have seen accusations against
the US turn to be false as the truth comes out. Sometimes it takes time
to come out.

If you like to read about spys, conspiracies and that kind of stuff, take a
look at this. Its about a real life accusation against the CIA/US Gov that
later on (at this moment) turns out to be false.

Its happening now

My personal view on WikiLeaks is that it can leak the files that don't danger national security, but if it does that (which it has) then it should be taken down. Unforunatly, the web server WikiLeaks has is very resillient, eg Pirate Bay.

WikiLeaks weathers DDoS assault

WikiLeaks' website slowed to a crawl on Tuesday night following an apparent denial of service attack.

The assault follows days after the accelerated publication of thousands of the remaining US diplomatic cables which the whistleblowing website first began publishing last autumn.

The initial publication of the controversial cables was also accompanied by a DDoS attack. Patriot hacker Jester claimed credit for running the November assault, but no one has come forward to 'fess up to the latest assault.

In the latest of a series of updates to its Twitter account, WikiLeaks said: "WikiLeaks.org still down for some. You will need to wait 10 minutes or so until DNS cache timeout. Until then, http://wikileaks.lu/ etc". The whistleblowing site also repeated earlier calls for individuals to donate to its cause, via bank transfer or Bitcoin payment.
