You've got to respect Microsoft for making a big deal out of Windows 8's reset and refresh features. Useful as they are, the main reason these features exist is because sometimes, PCs can go haywire.

A new blog post by Microsoft's Desmond Lee explains Windows 8 refresh and reset in detail. Although Microsoft already revealed these Windows 8 features at its BUILD conference last September, the new post help clear up exactly how they work.

Same size as Windows 7 if I remember correctly.

Because it's still in the development stage we don't know , as they might add or remove files.

It will be similar sizes to the Windows 8 Developers Preview download.

English 32-bit ~= 2.8GB
English 64-bit ~= 3.6GB

Microsoft will release Windows 8 on a DVD, no doubt.

I would install a copy of Windows 8 on my VM but as long as Microsoft doesn't start working on the desktop version then I guess there is no point in doing that as I'm sure most of us will use programs and not apps. , nevertheless this is another step in the right direction.

I think so, Windows 8 should have a desktop version too, Jack.

but, I will use and switch to windows 8 when released (released after 3-4months) the same things I did when I switched from XP to 7.

I think it's clear that the primary focus of the build conference, where the developer preview was released, was the touch and tablet interfaces.

They would never dump the desktop as we know it. after all, enterprises and workstations are their biggest customers.
