Advice Request Windows Defender Improvements after Anniversary Update?

I'm curious who thinks Windows Defender will offer even better protection after the Windows 10 Anniversary update? From what I've read, more improvements are on the way August 2nd. Take care.

i use WD and will use it til the end , no 3rd party AVs will put their hooks on my kernel

I agree with Umbra, Windows Defender is adequate and indeed improving in the anniversary update. If you know what your doing on the internet you can easily get by with Defender and Ublock ad blocker.

Windows Defender has certainly improved. However, I am still a paranoid person and decide to use !any kinds of software for protection.

Windows Defender from the first place are already in the works for improvements, of course sophisticated threats are still able to bypass because of minimal techniques provided for protection compare to 3rd party.

I actually really like Windows defender. I'm just using WD with Windows other in-built security measures alongside my safe browsing habits and my system is a pleasure to use

Kernel hooks can cause problems when the OS becomes old or to be rightly put, ancient that's the time your PC will suddenly BSoDs and we'll think our system is compromised and we try to start from scratch and after few months the problem creeps up again and after hours of troubleshooting we narrow the problem down to AVs, that's why I switched to MS AV for increased(somewhat) security,reliability and performance.
I'm not saying not to use 3rd party but be aware of this by updating the AV to latest version and before switching to new AV consider clearing all remnants of older AV before progressing.

I really like Windows defender(Win10).I am currently using WD as my laptop protection and it is now much more advance than windows7 or 8,8.1.

the pros over at tenforums.com generally advise people that WD + common sense is good protection, and the best setup.
So why do we go crazy about security softs over here at MT?

Traditional + Cloud Antivirus aren't the only means of protecting your system.

I use WD and uBlock Origin.With my safe browsing habits i think i am ok.
But being a bit cautious i am considering adding VoodooShield or AppGuard.

VS won't bother you. It's a pretty likable software.
AppGuard is a little more hardcore.

I had SecureAPlus installed along with WD. I didn't know it was there. I'm not sure I had to, but I uninstalled it until after the Anniversary update hits. Anyone else concerned some security software may not work properly?

There are people with malware attacks even with best 3rd party AVs also. I prefer not to name them.
