RE: woox's config

A backup and recovery disc are useful for when your PC doesn't want to boot up correctly.

How to create a System Repair disc:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/create-a-system-repair-disc
How to use Backup & Restore, create a Full Backup:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/back-up-your-files

(Note: Silverlight is not required, just follow the written instructions).

RE: woox's config

Thank you :)
Are lastpass and zenmate safe to use though? (they don't have access to your passwords and such)?

RE: woox's config

Before installing or using any software, it's always recommended to read up a little about what they offer and their service practises.

LastPass' Privacy Statement:
https://lastpass.com/aboutus_privacy.php

Remember you can set-up 2-factor authentication in the LastPass settings.

I've been using ZenMate for about 6 weeks, and I haven't had any issues.

I think both services are Safe to use, both offer different services. LastPass will handle your sensitive data with encryption, whereas ZenMate hides your online presence, by masking your real IP with another one, or a different geo-location.

RE: woox's config

Thanks ;), do you think I should enable HIPS in comodo and install zemana free antilogger for keystroke encryption?

Not both, if that's what you're asking.

RE: woox's config

I and others have posted some of our thoughts, see if our replies help to answer your question (above).
http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Zemana-antilogger-free-vs-Spyshelter-free

1. Use an AV to prevent unwanted threats from entering your PC.
2. A clean PC should not have issues with keyloggers, since none are installed.
3. HIPS can prevent programs from logging, if you disallow/block (injecting?) that application.
4. Isolated Virtual Environments should prevent loggers. (Not personally tested) - Comodo has Virtual Kiosk.

I don't use Comodo, so I can't provide more insightful answers.

RE: woox's config

Thanks a lot for your help!

update:
Removed zemana (sticking with comodo with HIPS enabled)
Added: hitman

Looking for good on-demand scanners, I got MBAM and hitman so far, also if there any good extra programs for real time, that'd be much appreciated

Malwarebytes and HitmanPro are excellent for on-demand scanning, so no need for any more real-time protection. Your AV of choice incorporates Anti-Spyware and Antivirus protection.

What did you like about Comodo, and what did you not?

Also, check here to see what's coming up in the next major release of Avast! 9 (BETA software).

I really liked comodo, but the huge amount of pop-ups drove me crazy, I looked at some A/V tests and avast seems to do it's job silently, and thanks for the link :D

update:
removed emsisoft :D
and is a tweaking program necessary? or CCleaner and Auslogics DiskDefrag will do the job?

Thanks :D

Tweaking software like TuneUp or BoostSpeed are over-rated. Imo, simple programs like CCleaner and Auslogics DiskDefrag (also portable) are more effective.

installed avast! free

That was a bad choice. I would recommend you Avira or CIS.
Avira is better than Avast in many ways. Detection first.

If im not messing around and downloading random stuff, I believe avast! should be enough.

DaZa9, detection rates don't mean anything. But it's that the cause for you, why aren't you using Bitdefender, Kaspersky or G-Data?

Which answers my point exactly, in the kindest way possible.
