Can't extract the zip file from the website.

screenshot_58.png

This happens with 7zip also. I went onto the other thread and downloaded the pre-beta version in 7z format which works fine. Also the file seems to only have an ini and a md5 file in it.

It extracts fine now. Thanks for the quick fix. Updater and command line scanner working fine also. No false positive detection on my system either. Since this is my first time using this, I'll use it for an extended period against clean files and infected files also to get a feel for it and make a post about my impressions where ever the most up to date thread is located. My first impressions are very positive. The scanner is responsive and quick while being everything you'd want in a command line scanner and more. Since most malware is in the form of PE and most are under 10MB file size, I also feel this gives you enough to be effective in most cases.

To my understand it only can scan PE and SWF files (looking at file submissions). Will this support more file types later on? Sorry if you were asked this question before in previous thread(s).

:)The virus signature for SWF viruses are few.
I would like to support more file formats in the future.

Open our program, enter 'a'(scan files), press enter.
Then enter the absolute path of a directory you wanted to scan, press enter.
Now X-Sec is scanning the directory you give.

No, but I would like to add this feature in the future.
BTW, you can only see detected files from our scan log.

Odd, I downloaded your program and input the path for several single files and it scanned....
OK... I have checked it.
Maybe it' s a bug, but it does not make sense[In fact, it does not scan anything when you input a single file path]

S

Smith83

You are correct sir, it was not actually scanning.... It will scan the entire desktop though. Sorry, I feel like an idiot...

Here is a screen shot of my misinterpretation....
