Time to give Ubuntu's under appreciated brother - or sister - its deserved attention. Going from sucky to awesome in the manner of just a few years, Xubuntu has effectively filled the gap left by the end of Gnome 2, and it's now the new lithe darling of the desktop world. i tried it but i prefer KDE version, aka Kubuntu
