Long time no updates!

I haven't had much time to develop in this project for the last years, so I decided to make the base Xvirus scanning engine open source. It does not include the entire Xvirus program code, but depending on the feedback that could happen in the future... The goal is to speed up development with the help everyone and make the engine better than ever.

I also want to thank you for all the help and feedback you given this project for all this years and hopefuly you keep supporting it for the future.

More news in the near future! You can access the project on github.

Hi @Dani Santos

I have some questions about this

1. WQill you continue develop Xvirus Antivirus annd Xvirus Personal Firewall and your other products

2. Will you add the Scan Engines to virustotal

3. And you can ask the peoples that develop a free AV as example @xywcloud and others to help

4. Any infos about Windows 8.1 to support

That's really good news
There are very few open source av software
So even if this project dies it would be very helpful for those that need a base to create their own
Although who knows maybe this software will grow some userbase thanks to this decision
But only time will tell and I can't see harm in open sourcing software
(People can just put closed source software into a debugger, dissambler if they wanted to do something Malicious)

Seems like it's supports Linux that's too that's awesome
Unfortunately Linux users don't believe open source software can be malicious too and that the amount of Linux malware is growing and growing anyway since a lot don't even stay on lastest kernel a lot of malware in Linux actually gets via cves(exploits) oh and they don't have mitigations like iOS , Mac , android , windows etc that make it harder for exploits to work and usually forces a chain of at least two bugs

So although I absolutely love Linux , bsd many users of that operation system have a false sense of security

1. Yes the newer versions of Xvirus will now use this open source engine under the hood and will keep being developed.

2. No, I already tried to submit it to virustotal once and they rejected it. But it is available in Metadefender cloud and virscan.

3. Anyone can help the development now submiting issues, enhancements or pull requests on github. Anyone is also free to integrate the engine into their products.

4. The new engine will only support windows 10 or up.

I'm added support to "&" (AND) and "!" (NOT) on file pattern matching in Xvirus heuristics engine. Would it be worth it to try and support the YARA rule standard or make a new one, or maybe do a conversion tool from one to another. What do you guys think?

Hi @Dani Santos

I have some questions to you and to others

1. Can you post some screenshots or can others make a video of it

Mops21
This is a screenshot from the program. It is a commandline tool/SDK only, no GUI.
