Yahoo doesn't use HTTPS encryption technology to protect the privacy of it's users. This means every email sent to and from a Yahoo! address in a web browser is out in the open, unprotected from hackers, governments, or anyone who uses widely available tools to break into these vulnerable email accounts.

Even if you don't use Yahoo! Mail - the privacy of your emails to Yahoo! addresses are at high-risk of being exposed.

Yahoo! has made promises for years that they would fix the problem, but have nothing to show for it. But with a new CEO and board trying to put their stamp on the organisation, this is our moment to ask Yahoo!

I have had some problems with my Yahoo account and I know friends who are experiencing security problems with theirs. Glad I close mine, I know that none of them are secure but others are more secure than Yahoo's!

i am using yahoo, since it is the most popular mail/messenger in Asia; but i will not blame too much the governments and secret agencies to spy on my mails, so they will dream on how come i can have a so deep relationship with my girlfriend :lolz:

I use Yahoo as well. It is tedious sometimes, but anything is better than dealing with Outlook.

What about Gmail?

I have an account, but I never use it except to chat, and that is rare.
Eventually I will go to anonomail, or something like that (don't know if I spelled it right).

My yahoo address is short and sweet. So that is why I use it. I have no sensitive data passing to and from my email account anyway.

Thanks for the info. Good thing I only use it for junk mail.

That might be the reason that it doesn't work properly, from spam filter to customer help.

I use Yahoo, as well. Never really noticed that they don't use HTTPS. That would be something that every email website whould have. Plus I use my Yahoo for about anything.

Yahoo Mail was my very first email and I still have my original account.
But I don't use it as my main email anymore, I moved to Gmail several years back. Gmail has much better spam folders which are mostly accurate.

I keep getting tons of spam in my Yahoo and MSN email accounts. MSN (Hotmail) loves to put important email into their Junk folder. I got tried of creating filters to get my email to go into the correct folders.

Yes Yahoo could use a lot of improvements on their email.

Gmail is the best email that I have tried so far and my ISP recently switched to Gmail allowing me to link the accounts together.

Enjoy!!:D

I would be more worried about using a strong password. @ least with gmail u can add a 2nd form of authentication.
