As for the topic in question, it was bound to happen with TF2 being the starting point, although I do not believe it will last that long. Sure Steam is very well known but at the same time, it is also known for a few of the following:
*relatively high technical difficulties across the globe ranging from users to games
*Steam Greenlight is not the best approach
*iOS ports to PC that are just... Ok I will rephrase it, I rather buy an iOS and play it there due to:
-Poor ports
-Extremely overpriced for an iOS port to be run on PC
In my opinion, it is actually a desperate move to try to capitalize the market.
I am not even going to the DLC modules of the games itself since thats a completely different topic.
