You can find zero-day malwares without any detections at there:

again? Once again VT should not be used to make those stupid claims. VT IS NOT the same version nor setup of each individual installation of those solutions. That's like performing a novel drug study against a specific disease while giving each participant a different set of rules, concentrations and makeup of the drug while just keeping the name of the active ingredient the same.

i.e. Patient taking a drug in a way that is never taken in real live environment. ETC patient A is kept in a sterile environment, given perfect nutrition and maintained optimal vitals. Patient B is thrown into slums that they never lived in. Patient C is a normal dude living their normal life and taking the drug. In the end Only Patient C is the valid configuration

This type of misleading presentation and statement is not doing any benefit to the community. I am not questioning you, I am questioning the authors who posted at X.

VirusTotal Another zeroday malware

VT score is already at 16 engines, although these will as already mentioned lag behind in real time as they are not current versions.

This is static detection and many products will detect upon dynamic.

Last but not least, if users would stop downloading unnecessary things on the Internet they would not have this problem.

Not necessarily. If you go to reputable sites to download, they provide you with hash signature to check the authenticity of the downloaded file. Those file could be tampered with. Users can still practice healthy habits and still get infected.

And if I only download programmes from official sources it means I don't need a security product?

I would state since he did not have the problem before downloading the video, and the video was not necessary to download, that basically his issue he has now was by something he did not need to do. Hence why I stated "he would not have the problem he has right now" if he was more selective.

I can walk across a street and get hit by a bus, there is a chance it could happen, but if I take the right precautions I certainly minimize the chance of this. Same could be said of stepping outside and getting hit by lightning. By being proactive we minimize these chances.
