Would anyone tell me how do I know if I am being crypto mined and what is best protection?
Is a product called Black Fog being used by anyone here and if so what do you think ? Thanks
Can't comment on BlackFrog, but from my experience... most Antivirus apps are not friendly to crypto miners, both legit and not. If you haven't seen an alert yet, things are likely clean. 2nd opinion for peace of mind.
Other than that, POW miners are resource hogs. 1st place I'd check is task manager, CPU/mem usage. Check for anything out of the ordinary.
Sites use visitors' computers to earn by mining. It could be an alternative to ads, but must work only with users' consent. AdGuard now warns about mining.
Rather than invest in the infrastructure needed for legitimate crypto mining, cybercriminals look at browser mining scripts as a way to avoid those costs. Protect your computer against both browser mining and standalone crypto mining malware now!
