Despite widespread recognition that women are paid less than men for the same jobs, the gender pay gap lives on. It exists in virtually all occupations, even among teachers and nurses, where women dominate the field. Careers site Glassdoor used its salary data to put a spotlight on the U.S. technology industry and understand differences by job title. It analyzed more than 505,000 salaries and statistically controlled for—in other words, removed the impact of—differences in age, education, years of experience and job title.

Computer programmer showed the highest gender pay gap, at a massive 28.3%. In job duties, computer programmers differ from software engineers (whose gap is 6%) in that engineers are more involved in designing software, while programmers receive instructions from engineers and have a more executional role. Game artists, who create visual art for video games, were second on the list, with a 15.8% gap. And information security specialists, who help prevent and repair cybersecurity breaches, ranked third.

Its not only in tech but every other field out there in the world. Women usually get paid less then men. One of the main reasons why people believe this happens is because of the outside responsibilities women usually take on. As quoted from Claudia Goldin from Harvard Universities Department of Economics “Women aren’t choosing to make less. Instead, they’re buying the flexibility to handle responsibilities outside of work".

I do kind of understand how this became some kind of standard, but of course that doesn't mean it should stay that way.
Hopefully, this will eventually even out. I sure don't make a difference with my employees.

If you have a decent credentials and being wise in your job, then likely you will not suffer for any gender pay gap.

Unfortunately it just a clear [possible] manifestation of discrimination; benefits must be equal to all.

You need to fight against the odds.
