Adblock Plus 4.24.0 - 2025-07-29
This version contains new snippets, a bunch of bug fixes, and some under the hood changes.
  • Added a download debug information to the Help tab of the desktop options page (EXT-995)
  • Added cohorts to telemetry and CDP. (EXT-980)
  • Updated snippets to 2.3.0
  • Removed encoded license from Bypass and Public APIs
  • Added a data collection opt-out to the advanced options page on Chrome. Note that this is not currently shown on Firefox because Firefox users are currently always opted out of data collection. (EXT-983)
  • Added the ability to generate anonymized debug/behavioural logging for a marginal amount of users. This is set to opted out by default for Firefox and can be opted out on other browsers. (EXT-918)

Adblock Plus 4.28.1 - 2025-09-30
This release contains bugfixes and under-the-hood changes.
Adblock Plus 4.28.0 - 2025-09-23
  • Updated user account log in request pattern (noissue)
  • In MV3, EasyList, Acceptable Ads, and ABP filters have their DNR rulesetsenabled by default. This should block ads before our service workerinitializes on update. Once the service worker has started the user selectionwill take effect.
  • On extension update, DNR dynamic rules will now be checked against ourexpected filters. (EXT-938)

Tried it; not resource-intensive as it was previously; using almost the same RAM and CPU as the "old" uBO (of course uBOL use less than both).
For my surprise, it did not break neowin while using only fanboy annoyance list (uBO old used to break using the same list, and to avoid I had to disable and use only adguard annoyance list which works fine).
uBOL also breaks the same website, there is not adguard annoyance list to use, so the only solution was to decrease the level from optimal to the lower one for this specific page.
I removed uBOL from Chrome, and replaced it with adblock plus.

I'm glad you liked it. Actually, I like its graphical interface more than other ad blockers, and the way the settings are arranged makes it more organized.

Hi,:)
Are you sure you've made the right choice?
Run a few tests before making your final decision.

The first test is Cover You Track.:

Cover Your Tracks

This test can be passed in uBoL with a very simple DNR rule:

Content Filters and Proxy Detection

also check the URL tracking parameters:

Test cases for brave/brave-browser#4239

But especially if the web pages contain unblocked (pop-ups cookies) elements.

Have a nice day.;)

@Parkinsond

The same goes for you, but not for me (I use my own DNR rule).
The same applies to the Spotter Test.
If you like, I can write the two DNR rules to be included in uBoL in the dedicated thread before I do my daily exercises.

A third simple rule that blocks all third parties on any HTTP websites is very interesting.;)
