Everyone is recommended to update as soon as possible
Adobe has just released an updated version of Flash Player that's supposed to fix a critical zero-day flaw that was already being used in exploits that were believed to be linked to the Russian government.

The new version of Adobe Flash Player, 19.0.0.226, is aimed at all supported platforms and security experts recommend its install as soon as possible because exploits have already been spotted in the wild.

Adobe itself admitted that it's aware of some attacks happening lately and confirmed that the vulnerability exists even in version 19.0.0.207, which was released by the company as part of its monthly patching cycle on Tuesday.

“Adobe has released security updates for Adobe Flash Player. These updates address critical vulnerabilities that could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system,” Adobe said.

More attacks likely to take place soon
Wolfgang Kandek, CTO at security company Qualys, says that the number of attacks is very likely to grow in the coming days, as the exploit is expected to become public. As a result, users and IT admins should patch their systems as soon as possible, and Kandek says that patching in under three days is critical for the security of these computers.

“Just three days after Trend Micro had notified Adobe of a 0-day vulnerability in their Flash player, Adobe addressed the flaw with a patch. APSB15-27 provides fixes for three vulnerabilities, and one of them, CVE-2015-7645, is currently being used in attacks in the wild. You should apply the update as quickly as possible as we expect the exploit to show up in ExploitKits soon, which will greatly increase the number of attacked machines,” Kandek said.

Just as usual, the latest version is also available on Softpedia, so go ahead and download Adobe Flash Player to patch your system as soon as possible. As you can see, exploits are already out there in the wild, so move fast to make sure you're on the safe side.
