Microsoft is strategically forcing users to switch Operating Systems. Well done.

"In an email to The Verge, Microsoft said that the OneDrive pop-up is a “tip” and that notifications can be stopped altogether if someone chooses. “The new tips notifications within the File Explorer in Windows 10 were designed to help Windows 10 customers by providing quick, easy information to enhance the experience relative to storage and cloud file management,” a spokesperson said. “That said, with Windows 10 customers can easily opt out of receiving these notifications if they choose.”

But while the ad can be dismissed, it’s still a frustrating intrusion. Operating systems have typically been ad free. You’ve already paid the price of admission to use the operating system when you bought the computer it’s running on, so Microsoft is really just using this as a way to push its own services and make more money, at the expense of a better experience."

It's an Ad, not a Tip.

Click File in the top left of Explorer,
Options,
View,
Untick "Show sync provider notifications".
Having to opt-out of so many things in Windows 10 is quite infuriating. Microsoft seems to be getting desperate.

Microsoft should not show ads to people who have paid for their product(s), same goes with almost all products/platforms.

This is what happens when there is absolute monopoly. These days MS is trying so hard to destroy windows computers and forces people to depend more and more on Android devices. To a large extent Windows customer base are mainly gamers rest of the users can be perfectly fine on older Windows, Linux or Android.

To add to this, even Google, an advertising company don't put the ads in system. And they give their software for free. Microsoft, you pay for the OS and get ads. You can turn them off, but it shouldn't be there in the 1st place. Even the ones who paid for Windows 10 get this.

That's a very shameful for company like Microsoft to do such silly things with their hefty amount paid products.

I know it may sound silly, but does adguard able to block these ads in someway as it filter packets from base level?o_O
If yes, then now it's time to use ad blocking programs again :D

Adguard may be able to Block Ads from appearing from UWP Apps (from Windows Store), but you can Disable the "Notification Tips" in Windows Settings | Link.

Still disgraceful that Microsoft banished the Unlimited Storage Allowance for paying users of their Office 365 serivce and consequently their Free users are paying the price, now only limited to 5GB.

Google offers more value, even without paying.

Prompts users to Upgrade their Storage Plans for OneDrive
, can also be misleading to less experienced Windows 10 computer users, as they may be led to believe that their physical storage is low.

More News on this, read at Microsoft is disgustingly sneaky: Windows 10 isn't an operating system, it's an advertising platform

Microsoft is not only incredibly aggressive with its advertising, it is also disgustingly sneaky. Many of the various forms of advertising that can be found in Windows 10 can be disabled, but don't expect this to be easy, particularly if you're not completely au fait with the world of technology. The settings and toggles that need to be changed are far from obviously placed, and the misleading wording used (yes, we're looking at you OneDrive ads in File Explorer...) means many people would simply have no idea what the settings refer to even if they stumbled across them by accident. Seriously... who would think that in order to hide the OneDrive ads, you'd need to flick a toggle labeled Show sync provider notifications?
