Dear users, I decided to buy an antivirus, and I am undecided about various products. The first choice would be that of Bitdefender, I have seen that in various magazines it is often at the first position, or it achieves excellent results. I tried it for 30 days and I did not have any kind of performance program. What puzzles me, is if its degree of protection is effective, or if a product like Norton or Kaspersky can be superior. Do you recommend it, what do you think?
Thank you all for the answers

in my opinion I think kaspersky or bitdefender protect almost the same in the av comparatives are the most rated but bitdefender makes many promotions of their products the last is 6 months free and if you do not find any promotions bitdefender is much cheaper than kaspersky
P.D use eset

It's important to note, unlike older versions of Windows, all users on Windows 10 are automatically protected by Windows Defender Antivirus. Windows Defender Antivirus is built-in to the OS, but can be disabled when another AV is detected.

I don't believe the "No, not recommended for reasons of bugs, performance and virus undetected" is a valid opinion. Every software has bugs, every program might have performance issues, and malware can go undetected for a lengthy periods of time.

Every security solution has it's Pro's and Con's. In the case of using top tier like Total Security, I would re-evaluate whether you need features, or how much of it you will use.

I would not buy Bitdefender Total Security solely for AV Protection. Downgrading to Bitdefender Antivirus Plus or Free Antivirus might be cheaper in the long run, and allow you to use other software that works better.

Before buying, I urge you to try the Free Trials and even give Windows Defender Antivirus a try.
  • Norton Security
  • Emsisosft Anti-Malware
  • ESET Nod32 Antivirus

Basic layout;
  • Modern OS + Automatic Updates
  • Lockdown/Harden OS (ie. NoVirusThanks OSArmor)
  • Antivirus*
  • Data Backup
  • System Backup (ie. Macrium Reflect Free)

*If you stay with Windows Defender Antivirus, check out ConfigureDefender utility for Windows 10
Firewall based on WFP API (ie. Update - Simplewall - A tool to configure Windows Filtering Platform)

Once you are confident with your decision, you can share your setup here:

Of course, you say well. I wrote it just to see if anyone had any annoying problems with the antivirus in question. I am aware that every Antivirus has problems, bugs and other, and that the choice is subjective, according to our tastes. However it is simply a survey to get a collective idea, to be taken lightly.

The only problem I ever had with Bitdefender is that it marked a copy of Firefox Portable as malware for some reason... took me 3 clicks to restore it from quarantine and exclude it from scanning... So if you've tested it, it didn't create any problem in your system and you like it then keep it :)
