Hello and welcome to the AhnLab v3 test!
AhnLab is a South Korean antivirus, which is becoming popular.
Once reserved for businesses, AhnLab released v3 Lite in late 2020.
The program is very easy to use and suitable for novices.
For this test, we configure AhnLab to the maximum!

On the Web, nothing to say, the protection is excellent.
AhnLab has also caught some infected files with its Cloud!
On the other hand, when it does not know, it does nothing... I voluntarily authorized the execution of the URL number 3 and AhnLab did not detect it.

On the package, AhnLab has an excellent database!
But, it suffers from a big flaw : It lacks cruelly of proactive defenses !
Even if AhnLab manages to defend itself, the machine is still infected.

It is recommendable because it defends itself well, but only if you surf safely and know the risks!
If you go to risky sites, this antivirus is not for you.

RAM Usage : Light
Malware URL test : 9/10 (1 not detected after execution)
Fake crack : 0,75/1 (2 files not detected - detected with quick scan after test)
Malware Pack : Remaining 93 files out of 216.
AhnLab knows how to fight, that's a fact.
But it lacks proactive defenses.
The machine is infected by malicious scripts (AhnLab has blocked malicious downloads), a Trojan is still present.

Resistance to script attacks: Average

Result :
AhnLab : 2
NPE: 10
KVRT : 13

Recommand : Yes, but only with secure surfing
System Clean : No system infected

I like that App Isolation Scan design, similar to CyberCapture or APC?

Seems so much better choice than Panda any day🤣🤣👍

Thank you for a Great test👍😎

I wouldn't say it's effective. It's certainly far from the worst antivirus, but there are much better alternatives.
I agree, but it seems like those better alternatives are fading away. How many left that are not banned, or bought out by Norton, or have bugs, or X is missing this or that. I means what's left. Eset, F-Secure, Bitdefender (oh yea I can't install the free version) and then what, I know I'm missing some others. Oh well.

Just wondering if BD has went the way of Malwarebytes where you have to put up with the paid version for a trail period before the free version kicks in ?

Regards Eck:)

No it hasn't. But you can disable the free trial in Malwarebytes.
