• Add HTTPS Everywhere to your browsers
• Considering using a password manager such as LastPass, KeePass, DashLane, etc. to generate and store unique passwords for each of your accounts

IMO it is not necessary to add something else, because some good advice is already given.
If you're testing malware in a VM, please consider using a VPN (host or guest side) to protect your IP if you run dynamic testing by executing the malware.
