Zero-click refers to software that can download the contents of a target’s computer or mobile device without the need for tricking the target into clicking on it.​

First I heard of this, no phishing required, no target user interaction required, it apparently exploits vulnerabilities within your system to do its dirty work. So your only hope is keeping your OS updated and that OS manufacture fixes the vulnerabilities in a timely manner. Now that it is the hands of the government the bigger worry is the coercion of OS manufactures to create the needed vulnerabilities.

Intelligence agencies already stockpile zero-day vulnerabilities. There's no need for them to coerce OS vendors into implementing vulnerabilities when there's already an endless supply to found, either by themselves or by contractors whom they can purchase from.
