I think you misread the news.
There are many malicious clones/forks available.
Stick with the official Whatsapp and Telegram apps.
Security wise I would prefer automatic updates for OS and apps.

You mean SIM protection by pin from provider or from phone? ok if so i will reconfig my SIM
