Solved Another one with BuynSave Chrome extension.

I downloaded some software and with it came multiple malware. Most of this has been successfully deleted but the BuynSave extension is still on Chrome. It is disabled after I reset the browser but is re-activated any time I try to remove it. I scanned with Malwarebytes, Adwcleaner. Spybot and Hitman Pro. These helped remove some other malware but they didn't find BuynSave. I see that I am not alone with this problem!

I attach my 2 FRST files. Your help with removing it would be much appreciated - thanks.

Fix with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

• Right-click on
  
  icon and select
  
  Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
• Press the Fix button just once and wait.
• If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
• When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.


Chrome installation is altered by malware. Reinstall is needed.


Uninstall Chrome



Close all Chrome windows and tabs.
Go to the Start menu > Control Panel.
Click Programs and Features.
Double-click Google Chrome.
Click Uninstall from the confirmation dialog. Delete your user profile information, like your browser preferences, bookmarks, and history, select the "Also delete your browsing data" checkbox.

Thanks for your advice. I attach the Farbar fixlog.

I uninstalled Chrome via the Control Panel and it just disappeared. There was no uninstall confirmation box so it gave me no opportunity to delete user profile or browsing data. It's not listed in Control Panel programmes now but I don't know if it's properly all gone. Would appreciate your further advice.

I just did a search for "Chrome" in File Explorer and there is a whole Chrome folder still in
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google with subfolders. So could I just delete that?

Everything seems fine now thanks. No sign of Buynsave and Chrome works. Am I OK now?

Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.

• Run the tool by right click on the
  
  icon and Run as administrator option.
• Make sure that these ones are checked:
  • Remove disinfection tools
  • Purge system restore
  • Reset system settings
• Push Run and wait until the tool completes his work.
• All tools we used should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:\DelFix.txt)

The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix
Tool deletes old system restore points and create a fresh system restore point after cleaning.
