Ram 2 gb ddr2 800mhz
hdd wd 1tb blue
windows 7 32bit

I'm using KAV, have also used KIS. Both run flawlessly and doesn't slow down the computer. I have a identical PC, only the HDD is 160 GB. I have also used Webroot SecureAnywhere along with it for a few days and had no problems and it was same with Chica-PC Shield (MBAM). Though both the Kasperskys were 2013 versions. Also have tried Pure 2, but it takes very long to boot.

Webroot SecureAnywhere is the lightest AV I've had. Lighter than Microsoft, avast! free, and Panda Cloud free. The problem is the darn thing loves to go after perfectly harmless software on my system. It really seems to believe I shouldn't have clipboard and screenshot programs. Refusing my attempts to whitelist infuriates me.

If I can get a fix for those behaviors I'll be really happy with it.

Webroot Secure Anywhere + common sense, or Microsoft Security Essentials + common sense will be more than enough.

Thanks :D

On freeware side you can give them a try: BDfree, 360IS, Panda Cloud Free
i noticed that Roboscan is maybe the lightest i've ever seen, but the problem is its effectiveness
