Hi! Just want to add to this thread. CNET is known for installing PUP's so be very careful when down loading software from CNET.
They use to be a good company, but $$ signs have corrupted them.
I would use FileHippo or Major Geeks to down load these programs.;)Please read this about CNET!!

I brag that I always ''uncheck'', and ''decline'' avoiding a downloaded PUP, even with cnet's bundled crapware ;)

That will work most of the time, but they're getting smart to that and down load there crap any way.
Here's a tool recommended by our Malware team.
http://unchecky.com/

I'm sure you all have noticed that Adobe and Java have joined the PUP's game. They will try to get you to down load crap you don't want even on their up dates. That's sad!!

Hi I'm afraid we have gotten slightly off topic and that's my fault. I would like to know if anyone here uses the AOMEI software??

I don't need Unchecky... I scanned MBAM, no PUPs :)

I don't need a program to control my unchecking. I don't trust it will work, even if it does!... somethin WEIRD about a program which unchecks for you, what if you NEED the checkmark, like language or music player download, or I dunno... I wanna install SLOW and steady with my mouse ready on those checks.

Oh yeah! I was the guy asking donetao about backing up my system, using AOMEI, I never backed up before, and have no idea what i tried to do (it didn't work), and do I need ISO image or can I try something else on AOMEI? .....

My reason for needing a backup, is not for my data... I have that on DVD's already, what I want is for tweaking windows, registry tweaks, uninstalling and installing a new free Anti-Virus, etc.

but I want backup before doing this.

Sorry my friend! I have no idea what you're talking about. The back up can take several minutes. It depends on the size of your drive.
I'm not familiar with AOMEI software!

Yes i use Aomei as second backup software and it works great. My first choice is Reflect but Aomei is just as good in my humble opinion. :)

Hi Aussie friend! Can you help @JakeXPMan . I don't know what else I can do to help him. My first choice is Macrium Reflect Also.

Using AOMEI now instead of Macrium because AOMEI does incremental backups.

I did find a bug when I installed it. Booting into windows 7 64 bit I noticed that the wireless connection icon in system tray was a spinning circle, but I would still have internet connection. When I would click on the spinning circle the system would freeze for a bit. The spinning circle wireless icon would last about 20 to 30 seconds before it went to normal connected icon.

AOMEI had created a task scheduler service in system services(services.msc). I disabled this service, and when I rebooted the wireless network icon was now normal...the way it was before I installed AOMEI.

About creating the AOMEI Windows PE boot disk for Windows 7 with Intel chipsets. If you have a current Intel board with USB 3.0 support, the AOMEI created Windows PE boot disk does not have the drivers that you will need to control the keyboard and mouse in the Windows PE environment.

During the creation of Windows PE boot disk, you can choose the option to add drivers(inf). Intel has two different USB 3.0 drivers for Intel chipsets...Intel® 7 Series/C216 and Intel® 8 Series/C220. Download the drivers, and you will need three inf driver files for 64 bit if that's what you are using, or three inf driver files from the 32 bit(x86). The three drivers are in two different folders in either 64 bit or 32 bit. That's all it is to it, and you will see the inf files added to the boot disk during creation. http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/usb3/sb/CS-034342.htm
