i would like to know if there is an antivirus that could AUTO-RUN from flash drive whenever i plugged into other PC, this is to avoid infection like shortcut virus and others malwares.

i've been following the suggestion from this site (How to Secure Your USB Drive And Prevent It From Spreading Virus) and i find the setting in which changing the permission to read and write only, its actually a smart technique to stop shortcut virus, but the downside is i have to reset permission settings in order to delete any files and i could never delete empty folder even reset unless reformat the flash drive.

There are portable Antivirus software that can be launched via USB or CD (ISO), but I don't know of any that come with Real-time Protection.

Only other solution would be to use a browser content blocker that protects and block malicious websites, and prevents malicious downloads. Modern browsers also come with Malware and Phishing protection by default, that can protect you without the use of third-party content blockers (ad-blocking, download protection and more).

Thank you for replying me, but im not asking for PC protection, what i want is solely the protection of my flash drive, in which THE MOMENT i plugged in a public PC that has been infected. Do you have any suggestion or what approach have you adopted for flash drive security ?

To clarify, are you looking for ways to Protect your USB device when inserted into foreign computers?

Since most infected-USB devices will attempt auto-run once inserted into a computer system, modern or updated OS will have this feature removed or disabled by default to protect the User of the Computer.

You could still install up some portable software for your USB device, that can be run manually.

This one, Mx One Antivirus, may meet your need. It uses heuristic for detection. It is FREE!

It can be installed directly onto the USB device to offer real time protection against infected PC/laptop or install onto the PC/laptop itself and protects from infected USB devices.

The home page is in Spanish but the software has english language for selection during installation

Mx One Antivirus - Antivirus para Memorias USB, Pendrives, MP3, MP4, iPod, Celulares, Movil, Discos Duros. Diseñado especialmente para dispositivos de almacenamiento extraible
