Hi MalwareTips Members,

talking to different people if they are using data encryption for data at rest I get lots of different answers.
Myself, I am a big fan of data encryption because it proctects my digital assets if my hardware gets lost / stolen.
In general I don't ask the question if anyone would like to claim my documents and pictures, I just don't want to worry if bad things happen.
That is why all my systems are fully encrypted using VeraCrypt.

I know, there are downsides when it comes to data recovery, but with a good backup this should not be an issue.

What is your opinion on this?

sure this is a matter of the windows edition... but if someone is using the home version he / she should be able to find a way to encrypt...
