Hey Idletester and a warm welcome to our humble forums :)

I gather you're already on top of it, but you should pay our good friend TwinHeadedEagle a visit at the Malware Removal Forums, he'll have that astromenda infection running for the door in no time at all ;)

Anyway, look forward to seeing you around the forums!

WOW, what a responce. Thank you all very much for your kind words and help. I will give TwinHeadedEagle a visit and see if I can get rid of this Astromenda rubbish. I have tried clearing it from the registry, the browser, the search options, from the Program Data folder, uninstalled it from the Programs and features.
all with no effect so with some luck TwinHeadedEagle might be able to help me.
Kind regards to all you guys and thanks again :)

Hi all, just a point on the Astromenda saga. I contacted TwinHeadedEagle about the problem of the search hijack from astromenda. TwinHeadedEagle tried his best to remove Astromenda but after the last lot of instructions I got my machines OS failed and I had to re-format the hard drive and reinstall the operating system as new. I am in no way blaming anyone for the OS problem except for the "A" "HOLE" who wrote the Astromenda program. I hope they get stuffed very soon too. To TwinHeadedEagle, thanks for trying and to all you other guys out there, thank you all for your kind words. I will keep on using this forum as you never know I might be able to give some help to someone myself.

Oh and before go, On another of my machines, (which just runs my home security and emails) I had a problem with the machine keeping on auto running my email (Thunderbird) over and over again, until I had to turn off the machine with the on/off button. well after replacing the CPU, (with no luck) then replacing the motherboard, (with no luck) I tried replacing the DDR3 RAM (with no luck) and as you can see the is not much left to change??? Well, "what was causing this problem I hear you say?" It was my keyboard. The keyboard on the other machine used is a diNovo Keyboard from Logitech and as there are multiple buttons for music, home screen and email. It was the keyboard that was causing the malfunction. So the moral of this story is that it is not always the most difficult option that is to blame but it can be the most simplest. Boy did I feel a right idiot but that is easy to say after the act. Everything is now running at 100% - - - Until the next time!! :) All my best to you all. :)
