AV's should already focus those different attacks like in Windows, cause there are so many references to consult how every functions works of an OS.

Using traditional antimalware + Next Gen AV is the best approach?

Be wary of Next-Gen, cause the typical backup solution goes on Hardening Protection/HIPS/Anti-Exe

A user must analyze those ewch execution, do not rely too much on automated response.
