I am running Win 10. Edge and Chrome, though Chrome is my preferred browser.
I started out with a problem from the following:

So, I did a little light google sleuthing and found where someone had given advice on how to remove it from Chrome and Internet Explorer. The IE advice didn't help me, but I managed to remove it from Chrome. I then removed Chrome, and reloaded it to my laptop.
On opening a window from the desk top icon, I still got Yahoo search, but pinned it to my task bar anyway. This morning, I restarted my computer, and saw a message that Chrome would continuously run (from start up on) in the background. I'm okay with that, I suppose. Now that it's pinned to my task bar, the same virus is back.
I see where some other folks got your help for similar problems. However, there seems to be a message with some of the downloads that states something like, "these were made specifically for this particular machine... using it could harm your machine..." Otherwise, I would have just grabbed those and tried them, before bugging you with the same (similar?) issue you've already solved for someone else.
Please, help... I'm at a loss.
Thank you for your time,
Grits
