A few days ago an audio ad played on my machine, and has played each day since. This happens when NO programs are running, including any browsers.

Followed all the steps here: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-random-audio-ads-virus/

The unit I attempted to clean was a 64 bit Win7 SP1. A second unit, which has just exhibited this problem, is a WinXP. Both units run AVG Free 2014 and have been updated. I use Chrome on both units.

I've successfully rolled back the WinXP unit to a previous point.

I was unable to roll back the Win7.

This is similar to issues noted elsewhere in this forum:
Despite all these steps the Win7 unit is still running the audio ads.

My level of expertise on this is probably advanced beginner.
