Quick scan is fairly fast it took less than a minute to complete. Which makes me think it might use their own engine, though this is simply speculation.

Auslogic's former Antivirus (which still shows on their website) is a replica of Bitdefender's 2013 antivirus, even the GUI is exactly the same.

about this new antimalware, its GUI is entirely new. Unless you buy the license, found threats are not removed.

So more or less its just useless?

Appears to be only an on-demand scanner, not a realtime protector.

Well if this is true then I highly doubt they will get any profits from it considering everyone knows Norton is a joke.

If i may ask what makes you think that Norton sucks? Because they rank conclusively in the top 3 at virtually every independent test.
Since 2005 Norton & Symantec have done so much to get rid of the old Norton drains pc sickness. The latest versions of their product are stellar and give any other rival brand a run for their money.
In regards to their signatures Norton & Symantec has by far the biggest DB in the world used by many other vendors who buy signature feeds from vendors like Symantec.
So the statement that Norton is a joke is not accurate and personal based.
Nowadays Norton does pretty much rock across the board.
