I meant I'd like someone to tell me why should it be used instead of Windows' built in disk defrag. On any of the above versions of Windows. Or in general.

You don't really have to use a third party defragmenter if the one provided by Windows offers satisfactory results. Personally I use both Auslogics Disk Defrag and the Windows 7 defrag. The tool in Win7 does a good job with its multi pass defrag but it is slower. Sometimes I just want to quickly defrag my drive (or only certain files) and I use Auslogics.

That is what we all want about a defragmenter :D
