Honestly, I'm of the opinion that if you stick to the repositories for 99.9% of your software needs, and use Chrome or Firefox with NoScript and Flash set to click to play, you are going to have an awfully difficult time getting infected.

So far as concern, you will be a little hard time to find samples which active in order to infect Linux easily. Due to few of progression in the wild list then its a long time to produce dramatically considering the users who use the OS.

Using Windows emulator, the infection will happen in such Windows type environment and not on Linux itself.
