Alas, I really like my Maxthon, IObit, Kingsoft, and Wise software. I may have other software that I don't know is mainland Chinese. But I want to know the truth. If they are dangerous I want to find out.
IObit? Seriously? Look...

Still want to trust Chinese companies? I will say it again... If it's Chinese software I look the other way. Better safe than sorry the way I see it. There are alternatives to everything you have listed.

IObit Uninstaller is an excellent program. Only Revo equals it, at least with free uninstallers. I really enjoyed having Advanced System Care Ultimate with the Bitdefender engine as my anti-virus during a trial. Smart Defrag is well-regarded. On the other hand the Spigot toolbar that can be installed piggyback gets a big thumbs down from me.

Installing a browser extension I would not term "spyware." I expect a realtime security program is going to do that. I don't think Webroot asked me before installing its extension, although the browsers themselves may have.

Thanks for the link to that article. It's worth pondering. I certainly wouldn't claim they are a sterling company, LOL. I will go through the comments when I have time.

No problem.

Avira and many others ask. You are overlooking things and the big picture here. I guess you didn't read the second link about Malwarebytes. Do you think IObit stealing from Malwarebytes is acceptable? Is that what a trustworthy company does? "Obit's in-the-wild detection rates dropped from over 70% to under 20% overnight after removing Malwarebytes' definitions from their database. Unsurprisingly, IObit has abruptly ended its anti-malware comparison testing program."

Use what you want though, it's your choice. As one person put it "IObit’s past history and unethical practices should be red flag enough."

MalwareTips even has a page to remove IOBit installed junk... http://malwaretips.com/blogs/pup-optional-spigot-a-virus-removal/

OBit Is Distributing Malware Again... http://shanegowland.com/opinions/2012/iobit-is-distributing-malware-again/

Mar 19, 2014... "IObit products are (explicit removed) me off between trying to install crapware and constant updates that have to go through a web browser!"

So why haven't there ever been rumors about Kaspersky, BitDefender, Avira, FSecure, GData, and the many others out there? Trying to stop something because it may be good is a guess that doesn't hold water. It certainly holds less water than the media reports in this situation. What do you base your statement on?
i always said thats its to good to be trough, thats why i don't use it, as i said let it run then we will see. there r many good freeware can be used
