I want to run Comodo Firewall with a compatible (non-comodo) antivirus, and was trying Kaspersky Free but the beginning of the install it said Kaspersky was not compatible with Comodo Firewall and continuing with the install would remove Comodo Firewall so I did not install Kaspersky Free. What antivirus, preferably free, is compatible with Comodo Firewall other than Comodo Internet Security and Microsoft Defender?

There are several free antivirus programs that are compatible with Comodo Firewall, including Avira Free Antivirus, AVG AntiVirus Free, and Avast Free Antivirus. However, it's important to check the compatibility of any antivirus program with Comodo Firewall before installing it. Additionally, keep in mind that running multiple security programs at the same time can cause conflicts and decrease overall system performance, so it's best to choose one antivirus program that works well with your Comodo Firewall.

well not exactly (at least for me) in that as I started to install Kaspersky free with CF already installed, it said it was going to remove CF, and I was not presented with any option to stop that?

I've noticed that you use VM's often so maybe try it inside and see if it actually uninstalls Kaspersky, maybe CS is saying it doesn't.

All good now. What I missed the first time when installing Kaspersky Free was ability to uncheck the box advising that it was going to uninstall CF. Once I realized I could uncheck that box, install was all good. CF + KF running aok in this win10_VMware. VMware Workstation has been great for me once I learned a few things. I have 5 different version of win10_VM and 1 linux.
