If you turn off Windows Defender and use 3rd party AV you'll also have Smart Screen so how can they also mention Smart Screen results for Windows Defender.

Windows Defender and SmartScreen are different components of the protection Windows 10 offers alongside UAC and its Firewall. Each oen can be disabled but UAC and Smartscreen work on kernal level so even with other good security products they shouldn't be disabled. PLUS can be used alongside any traditional 3rd party security.

Sorry If I was confusing they weren't testing Defender alongside smartscreen but normal users can use it alongside other software for greater protection

Of course they can, I just mean to say SmartScreen & Windows Defender two separate programs and cant be rated as one.
