i find it odd that mcafee scored as high as kaspersky and better than many AV.

McAfee has improved their AV...and is still a big global player in endpoint security.
Would be nice to see it soon @ our malwarehub

When over half the products tied for 1st place (in protection).... that's not much of a test.

But I get it... it's a business. You give out more trophies, you get more business.

Too bad.

I'm skeptical of McAfee too. It's had over a decade of mediocrity and sucktitude. Yes, it's gotten a few decent test results lately. But it's had some poor ones too. But we shall see. I hope they get better and we have more real competition.

According to AV TEST, there is no bad AV. Well in a way I share it, if there are bad users.

This tests are jokes. There is no way Avast Free or Windows Defender giving this same protection level as Kaspersky Internet Security or Norton.

In the real world tests (web and email threats) this is possible, although Avast has got a slightly lower score in July. Avast has a very good Web Shield and CyberCapture. WD has SmartScreen anti-phishing and BAFS.
Kaspersky can be better in malware tests which do not rely so much on web-based threats.

Does anyone find it strange how Bitdefender scores perfect like always but than you have GData that uses the Bitdefender engine and eScan ( I think they still use the Bitdefender engine ) but scores lower.... And I know that each company has its own technologies. But to me it's strange. Or maybe I'm just looking at a different angle
