Hi all,

I'm glad to announce first public beta of an upcoming program update of avast! Free AV / Pro AV / Internet Security / Premier (version 8.0.1484).

We try really hard to deliver the best product with every avast! release however during the inhouse testing we cannot cover all the configurations which are used by our humongous community of users. Users participating in the Beta program are using the latest development build. They are enjoying the latest features which the rest of the world will see when the product is officially released and published. If you like living on the edge then the Beta program is right for you. And the last but not least reason why you should care - by reporting the problems of your computer and your configuration, during the Beta stage of program, you are helping to deliver a product which will work in your environment correctly without any unexpected hickups.

This program update contains the following major features:
* SecureLine - is a paid VPN service that both secures and anonymizes your internet connection on public or "open" (unsecured) Wi-Fi. Nobody can see who you are or what you are doing on the internet.
Please be patient, this feature will be unblock for your test soon :)
* Screen readers compatibility
* Software Updater improvements (including a way to turn off Software Update persistently)
* Shredder tool is showing a progress now
* Improved stability & performance
* Fixed glitches in UI

Known issues:
* Waiting for your report :)

That's what I like to see! More bloat.

Those are for the Paid versions, at least you can still configure your installations without bloat.

@Umbra, SecureLine is already standalone product, but a VPN in Paid Avast could be a great idea for those paying the costs of Premier Edition.

Though I do agree that avast Free + Paid has become bloated since v5.

why put it in AIS if already a standalone, just give a free access to it for paid users who need it.

To expand their business, by integrating standalone products into one suite, these "extras" are just 1-Click away from potentially new customers and buyers.

Of course, unless avast meant adding it to their in-app store, but not to the product itself.

PS: I just noticed Premier is cheaper than the Internet Suite.

Oh well they are just adding what it lacks from other security companies and vice versa so that prices will meet for it.

But the important factor, Avast performance doesn't let it down even before.
