Avast is a good product but still lacks protection against unknown malware.
Otherwise it's a good alternative to Avira and Qihoo 360.

- Was this performed inside a VM or Physical computer?
- Was avast NG present and running?

I feel like the review is incomplete without a post-scan with MBAM/HMP

NPE is aggressive, but should produce little false positives. I haven't faced any FPs myself ; excluding my cracks.

Used NPE once and found 1 false positive, I would think that is it insignificant?

This is true, I'm not a fan of avast! recently but all of these test/youtube tests of the recent version of avast! are all but useless since NG is not VM-Compatible

Only true way to test the recent version is go buy or somehow get ahold of a computer you wouldn't mind infecting.
