which methods does avetix AV uses for detection apart from definitions?

I think , apart from the BD engine and signatures... Not so much.

I don't know. Bitdefender has heuristics, so Avetix has it too.

I can confirm that it does not have any configuration to adjust the heuristics sensitivity level therefore its a matter of default preference. The thing you can adjust is real time protection sensitivity.
