SDS is commonly called DLP. Data Loss Prevention in the enterprise world. It's a growing feature to prevent loss of sensitive data. For example with a Fortigate you can scan in documents and put signatures for sensitive documents in the Fortinet Fabric, or 'traits' of sensitive documents so they can be logged/monitored, quarantined, or blocked along with notification of who is sending that sensitive material out.
My concern with having this on the endpoint is huge. Do you trust your AV to scan for deeply sensitive documents? Where are they storing the data about those documents and information? Is there any logging or telemetry involved with any of this?
You'd be insane to turn this on without a white paper from Avast/AVG which are the most 'spy-like' companies I've seen next to Facebook.
