Antivirus software vendor Avira is making moves to update its quality assurance processes following a 20-minute window yesterday where components of Avira's own software were triggering false positives.

Agreed. Fixing something like that, that quick will get good reputation from people.

I think other Antivirus vendors are the same, if they detect themselves, Antivirus vendors would want to get that fixed as well.
 
But I don't think it's a false positive, they are a "virus" and need to be deleted... Only joking, not that bad although I can safely say my faith in them as a company has not been fully restored yet. They've got a long way to go to get back in the game, and be on the same level as they was before long ago..

Quick response, but then again all companies/providers would do the same when it's their own product kicking up the FP, so nothing epic here.
 
Good and they take the action immediately at least not the worst result when it didn't action on time.
