Have you tried limiting start up applications as well as adjusting the power options for the battery? As for software, i know of none that do this function, but maybe others do.

Hey Tom,
I don't know any software that will help you save the laptop battery, and I'm one of those who believes that adding a software to save battery will actually drain more of your battery.

Setting your power options as Illumination and Jack have pointed out will get you the most out of your battery.

In windows power options you can set your screen brightness,when display turns off,when laptop goes to sleep & dimming the display for "On Battery" & when "Plugged In"

@Jack Yeah I've done all the usual things to conserve battery life, some of which are in your link. Also, you make a good point about adding more software/processes to the system, could actually make things worse.
