> Detection 1st!
> Cleaning 2nd.
> But what good is detection if,you can clean the mal-ware?

Emsisoft: Is what it has Pro's and Con's.
Kaspersky: Is what it has Pro's and Con's.
BitDefender: Is what it has Pro's and Con's

Add SandBoxie, App guard and Shadow Defender.
Waiting on Shadow Defender to start updating it
software?

None , if u have a very good commonsense and browser protection. But i would vote for Kaspersky, Bitdefender and ESET. Since only one option i would like to select Kaspersky.
I agree: there will be none. NO AV could detect ALL malwares at any point of time. Even the malwares in the Virus Exchange section of this forum do NOT have ALL the NEW EMERGING malwares in all the world.

Take a look at the detection ratings of the products in the Virus Exchange, very few surpass 95%... And some reach 100% ONLY AFTER the malwares have been SUBMITTED to them. By that time, NEW MALWARES have been created by cybercriminals.

BUT... if you have a lot of common sense and browser/removable media protection, then maybe approximately YOU and the AV (not the AV alone) will catch/detect all the malwares present. (But not all the malwares will EVER try to infect a SINGLE computer.)

The answer is none of them, if you were to use an Antivirus that included all of the AV engines together you would be lucky if 50% of malware on the web would be blocked. Let's face the facts an Antivirus is just a helper, you have to do the main job by controlling your actions when downloading files and using common sense.

1. Utilize UAC prompts (never approve anything unless you know it is safe)
2. Choose an AV that is light on your system, user-friendly, low false positives, has no compatibility issues and easy for you to understand.
3. Keep Windows and your software updated.
4. Never download files from suspicious unknown sources.
5. Never depend on any AV to fully protect you because they will not.

There is really no point in these kind of posts because members will just vote for their favorite software ignoring logical facts.

Thanks. :D

There will be no real correct answer to this question because of two reasons:

1. No AV could detect ALL malwares (even approximately)
2. Not all the malwares will EVER try to infect a SINGLE computer. (so there's no real need to ask this kind of question!)

Hope the OP gets this by now.

There is no such animal. There is no AV out there that is foolproof.
