I've tried many combos for the past years (Avast w/ CFW, EAM w/ CFW), and I really fell in love with CIS and Webroot combo. I'm using it for almost a year and probably not gonna replace it anytime soon. For you what is the best AV combo?

In response to the topic title Best Security Combinations?. It's better to use an updated Operating System, Antivirus or Anti-Malware, or Virtualisation, Modern Firewall with Hardware Firewall on your Router, Knowledge of common Internet threats and risks. If you have young users, maybe use a DNS by Norton or another vendor to filter out content you don't want them to get involved with, or for yourself.

As for the Best AV Combo?, I wouldn't really recommend anything. One, because there isn't any good combinations that will provide the best security and Two, 2 Antivirus software cannot stop human error - by yourself or another. So a better security config would really on a layered approach, as already mentioned.

Yes, indeed. There's no perfect AV nor Security combos. The best thing to do is to use your head! Be wise. Use your brain.exe lol. ;)
brain.exe means:

virtualization
updates OS, flash player, java (better not use Java)
backup
good antimalware/antivirus
good second opinion scanners
web browser sandbox/virtualization
usb/removable media protection
firewall/personal firewall
HIPS and/or Behaviour Blocker
knowledge and skills about malware
UAC - Max
SmartScreen
web filter
use Standard Account for everyday computing/browsing!
