So I decided to go a bit unconventional on the battle opponents here, since EIS uses BitDefender's engine (only for static/on demand protection though, as per their own statements).

NOTE: I also have WSA Complete installed on this system, though just for the backup & password management functions (WSA uses lastpass). I can't fork out money for separate backup and password utilities & since I have many, many, many years left of WSA it's going to stay :P whatever I pair with it will have to learn to play nice.

I understand that WSA and BitDefender have often butted heads on many occasions. Emsi is designed to be compatible with other programs, but will the original BD conflict still be there since it uses BD Engine?

Anyway, which would you choose? Emsisoft with BD engine, or straight for the original (BitDefender)?

GO :D

Emsisoft all the way. Nice product, exellent protections with an outstanding behavourblocker and exellent forum support. Bitdefender is just a mess on all my system i have tryed it. slows dont browsing like no other av out there,is sometimes buggy as hell and i dont even start with there support. If u care about privacy than emsisoft is maybe the best out there as av vendor. they care much about u and our privacy.

Between these 2 i will choose Emsisoft, as it is lighter.
Bahavior blocker works perfect in both programs but i think bitdefender is a little bit better because of the disinfection procedure (like Kaspersky)
Url protection is also the same.
As about UI (personal opinion) Bitdefender is by far more attractive.

I will pick Emsisoft (not that I didn't already).

Emsisoft is lighter and faster, easier to navigate and use, has very good customer support, no unnecessary "bells and whistles". Their specialized assistance team offset any weakness that the cleaning engine might has.

Privacy is just the icing on the cake :D

Edit: I just noticed that you have Webroot SecureAnywhere installed. Emsisoft Anti-Malware is compatible with other AVs yes, but NOT Emsisoft Internet Security (using another AV with EIS is discouraged). My recommendation? Use EAM, or remove WSA and replace it with other apps that do the same thing since you do not appear to use WSA for protection.

Based on observation; when it comes from reliability of program then Emsisoft may have advantage for this especially issues which response to fix immediately.

For protection capabilities well slightly they are at good stage but for concrete concept especially the cloud reputation based which adds the better response on BB then go for Emsisoft, Bitdefender's BRAIN technology is still a bit mystery on how this program went through but its stated works well on AutoPilot configured on. (automated operation already)
